Since posting this story, the Government has decreed that all restaurants and street vendors must close down for 10 days. Nevertheless, Laura gets out and about on Avenida de los Insurgentes, meeting up with people who have become old friends, hearing about the impact on their businesses and prompting some laughter. It makes a fascinating record of the changes on the streets as fears about swine flu take grip.
