Finding a Story - and how to submit one
Entering Tiger Leaping Gorge, China
Climbing Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh
This is where you can find the main content of the site - the walking stories themselves.
All you need to do is pick a continent from the menu, or click on the relevant part of the coloured map, and a list of walking stories will appear.
You can either select the story or select the country to get more information on the country, regions and cities, and what they are like for walkers.
We have classified each walk according to the type, so you can select:
- High hills and mountains
- Countryside paths and easy hills
- City and town walks
- Eventually we hope some of you will submit a few long-distance treks as well.
If the country of your choice is not listed, we don't have any stories from there yet, sorry - it's still a new website!
If you are going there yourself, we would be pleased to receive a story from you: tell us what it was like, and what the most memorable hiking experiences were. Share a few of your best photos with us. Register as a Member first, it's free!
To submit a story
There's a form which you will be able to access once you've registered as a member, to make it easy to submit your story. There are spaces to complete a Summary, to provide Key Facts, and to type in the Story itself. You'll also be able to upload as many images as you like, using a Gallery if you have lots of photos!
You can make your story as long or short as you like, in your own style, so don't be put off by some of the lengthy step-by-step stories that are already on the site. We're looking for variety!
The main thing is to say something about your experience on the walk, to point out what was most memorable, and to give helpful advice to others who may follow in your footsteps.
For further explanation and advice, go to the "Add a Story" page.
