The Republic of Ireland presents wild mountainous landscapes in many ways similar to the Scottish Highlands, but with fewer walkers in evidence. There are several mountain ranges to choose from for more strenuous hiking, as well as easier country walks and trails.
The first walk from Ireland has been provided by Ken Wardrop, following a hike around the Bens of Connemara.
